Shia Ulama Condemn Blasphemous Cartoons

Committee of Shia Ulama in the United Kingdom strongly condemns the blasphemous cartoons which were published in Danish and other European publications. Publishing such blasphemous cartoons will harm the harmony in the societies, and cause great outrage among over one and half billion of Muslims all over the world.

It can not be justified by the excuse of freedom of expression as that freedom should not harm the feelings of others; otherwise it will turn to indiscipline which can endanger the harmony and co-existence. Danish and other European governments need to have a legislation preventing such violations.

We are sorry to see the response of few Muslim youngsters in attacking and burning, which fails to fit the Islamic standards, and urge all Muslim leaders to try to control over Muslim masses' emotions and keep them within the Islamic principles. Nevertheless, European governments should avoid allowing any act which can instigate public feelings and lead to unwanted situation.

We call for a clear definition of freedom of expression, which must keep it away from attacking or harming the religious feelings.

Matam-e-Rasool and Jigar Gosha-e-Rasool (a.s.)

The day of the Wafaat of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) and the Martyrdom of Imam Hasan (a.s.) falls on 28th Safar i.e. tomorrow. A Juloos to commemorate this sad and sorrowful occasion Anjuman-e-Azadaran-e-Husain (Moghul Masjid) has organised a Majlis at Haidery Imambadah at 8.00 pm. Then the Juloos started from that Imambada for Imamia Masjid passing through the streets of Zainabia, Moghul Masjid.
More than 8 Anjumans participated in this Juloos. One of the Anjuman has come from Saki Naka, Andheri. Its members belong to Ahle Sunnat sect. They did matam and recited nauhas. If there is Juloos in our city, definitly there will be Feroze Shakir, the photographer no.1 also. He was clicking the photographs of Azadaars, Shabeeh and Alam bearers.

Juloos at Mumbra on 28th Safar

On the occasion of the wafaat of our beloved Holy Prophet (pbuh) and martyrdom of Imam Hasan (a.s.), Anjuman-e-Sahebuz Zamaan (a.s.) has organised a Juloos in Mumbra on Friday 7th March which will start from Sohana Compound exactly at 10.00 in the morning and will terminate at Shia Qabrastan before Namaz-e-Zohrayn. After namaz niyaz has been arranged. Maulana Riyaz Moqadam will lead this Juloos. Azadaars are requested to be at Sohana Compound on time. This is the 5th year of the juloos. All are invited. Khamsa at Vasai (Bombay)

A Khamsa (5 majalis) has begun in Vasai Imambada, known as Mehfile Panjatani from 2ndMarch. The Zakir is Janab Liyaqat Husain Haideri from Kamptee, Nagpur. The timings are 9.30pm to 10.30pm. Azadars are requested to attend in large numbers.

Khamsa Majalis at Zainabia

A five day spiritual discourse (majlis-e-Aza) has been organised by Anjuman-e-Asghariya (yaqoob gali) at Imambargah Zainabia from 23rd safar to 27thsafar(1429 hijri). These discourses(Majlis-e-Aza) will be recited by Maulana Sayed Ahmed Raza saheb (Shikarpuri).

The Anjuman has organised a Shabbedari on the last day of the Majlis, which is also a very sad day of mourning, (the Shahadat of PROPHET MOHAMMAD (SAWA) and of IMAM HASAN(A.S.))
A procession concerning the sad context,will be arranged at Haideri Imambargah, by Anjuman Azadaran-e-Husain, at 9.00 pm, which will proceed through its historical routes and transiting at Zainabia Imambargah, and will conclude at Imamia Mosque. After the passing of the procession from Zainabia, Anjuman Asghariya will commence its concluding discourse and the Shab bedari.

Chehlum of Marhum Shabih Abbas

A Majlis on the occasion of Chehlum of late Shabih Abbas s/o Ali Abbas marhum was held at Bandra Shia Jame' Masjid, Bandra Bazar. The Majlis got over just before Namaz-e-Zohr and was recited by Maulana Ata Haider Sb. The topic of the Majlis was obedience of the parents. The masaeb were on Janab-e-Robab. 5 Majalis at Malony, Malad

From 4 March till 8thMarch, a series of 5 Majalis has been arranged by Abbasia Charitable & Welfare Society. These Majalis will be held at Mehfil-e-Muhibban-e-Husain (a.s.), Plot no 3, Gate no 5, Old Collector Compound, Malony, Malad, Mumbai 95.
Majalis will start daily 9.00pm followed by Shab-bedaari after the last Majlis.

Chehlum Juloos in Mumbai City

Arbaeen Juloos in Mumbai. Which starts from Zainabia and terminates at Rehmatabad (graveyard at Mazgaon). The route is Zainabia-Moghul Masjid-JJ hospital-Noor Baugh-Mazgaon Sales Tax Office-Rehmatabad. The crowd in juloos was approx. above 3 lakhs. 99.9% wearing black clothes. Over 100 Anjumans participated and about 30 NGO's distributed tabarruk (refreshments) . Trucks and tempos distributing drinking water were more than 25. Tens of ambulances. Many First-Aid teams. The Arbaeen Juloos attendance is the highest in comparision to other Azadari Julooses. The Azadars skip their jobs and services or work for only first half day in their respective offices. Those in business close their shops and establishments for the day.

Majlis at Golibar Imambada, Khar (east)

A Majlis has been arranged at the Imambada of Golibar, famous as Husain Tekri, Khar (east) tonight at 9.00pm. Maulana Sayed Zulfiqar Saheb will speak on "Sabr". All are invited.

The Honor of Hazrat Abbas (a.s.)

The author of Maqatil writes that the caravan of Imam Husain (a.s.) had reached Karbala on the second of Muharram. Hazrat Abbas (a.s.) had erected the tents on the banks of Euphrates river. But the enemy did not allow Ahle Bait (a.s.) to camp on Euphrates and asked them to shift farther from the river. When Hazrat Abbas (a.s.) heard this, he was enraged and dared the enemy to come forward with the proposal.

Even as the heated exchange was on, Hazrat Zainab (s.a.) summoned Hazrat Abbas (a.s.). Before leaving, Hazrat Abbas (a.s.) drew a line in front of the tents and announced aloud,

Sartajbhai of Zainabia Trust Passed Away

It was a sad news for the Zainabia Trust that one of its staff Mr. Sartaj Mahdi s/o Kazim Husain could not bear a severe heart attack and passed away last night at J.J. Hospital. He was 62 yrs. He is survived by 2 sons, 2 daughters. He was the guardian of 3 nieces, 2 nephews. Late Sartaj Mahdi was the motivating force for the Anjuman-e-Farogh-e-Islam, Bandra (east), which organised a massive juloos every year on the martyrdom of Imam-e-Sajjad (a.s.), the 4th Imam. He was also a key person in the publication of Al-Ilm (bi-monthly), Friday Journal (fortnightly) & Al-Haadi (monthly).
His burial will take place at Rehmatabad, Mazgaon, after the Zohrayn prayers.
We request you to please perform namaz-e-wahshat tonight and recite sura-e-Fateha for his departed soul.

Majlis at Javed Rizvi's Residence

Yesterday evening, 10th Feb.'08 a Majlis was held at Rizvi Education Complex, Bandra (w), where the residence of Mr. Javed Rizvi is situated. Hujjatul Islam Janab Zaigham Rizvi Saheb was the Zakir. It started with the Qur'an recitation by Tusi Rizvi. After the Majlis Maghrabayn Namaz was held with Jama'at. The prominent personalities who were on the Farshe Aza were Mr. Mohd Husain Rizvi, Rushaid Rizvi, Majjan Rizvi, Principal Dr. G.A. Zaidi, Mr. G.A. Rizvi, Sajjad Ashraf, Zia Rizvi (Pappu), Mr. Zaheer Hasan Rizvi, Prof. Nazar Abbas, Prof. Abbas Alam, Naseer Azmi, Mahdi Azmi and other lovers of Ahlul Bayt(a.s.). The Khichda was served as Niyaz, which had a wonderful taste.

WABIL website responds to questions regarding Islamic faith and practice, hence I am responding to this matter from another email.
1- I did not come to India to help the A.I.M, but to help all Momineen as it is my religious duty. I even did not know that there was such problem in Mumbai or Gujarat, but when I was informed after arrival, it became my duty to try to resolve the matter.
2- I have seen and gone through the syllabus of A.I.M. and did not see any thing wrong in it. I have announced in the public calling for any one who has any objectional matter in the sylladus, but no one turned up.
3- The meeting in Mumbai was attended by the main persons concerned from Bhavnagar, Mahvua and Mumbai. In that meeting I suggested to both parties (AIM and their opponants) to send the full syllabus of AIM to Ayatullah Seestani's office to go through it and inform Momineen if any thing wrong in the syllabus is been found. The syllabus was sent and nothnig wrong was reported.
4- The letter of Ayatullah Makarim Shirazi does not mean every one or group who preach the love and following of Imam Mahdi (AJF), but those groups who misuse this holy matter. Can you ask Ayatullah Makarim Shirazi about the Syllabus of AIM and get from him that it contains any wrong teaching?
5- I do not say that all the teachers of AIM are with out faults, as all of us are not Masoom, and you can not blame an association which is teaching our youngsters Islam and Real Faith of Ahlul Bayt (AS) because of the mistakes of few teachers, otherwise we have to close down all Dini Talim Maktabs all over the world till we find infallible teachers. I always inssist on rectifying the mistakes and keeping the teachers and students under the rules of Islamic spiritual purification. If you find repeated mistake from any teacher, you must report it to get things rectified.
6- Your suggestion about a public meeting about this matter can be discussed with the persons concerned, but I do hope that the real intitaitive be for the sake of Allah (SWT) and not to oppose or support for political reasons.
7- I dont find any matter of rich or poor in the classes as poor and rich are equally attending and getting useful knowledge and Tarbiyat.
8- I wonder why did you hide your name? I invite you to come out with your name as the matter is a religious and social and does not need hiding your identity.
May Allah (SWT) guide all Momineen to the Right Path and keep them on it, and remove Satanic disputes from them.

WERE FAVOURING THE ASSOCIATION AND MAULAN ABEDI. IS IT RIGHT ISLAMIC

33rd year of Sayyed-e-Sajjad (a.s.) Juloos

On the occassion of the Shahadat of our beloved fourth Imam Sayyed-e-Sajjad (a.s.) (i.e. 25th of Moharram).
Juloos on 4th Febrauary 2008 is arranged at Kherwadi, Bandra (east), Mumbai, which starts at 6.30 pm and ends up at 10.30 pm. Majlis will be recited by Hujjatul Islam Sayed Hasnain Rizvi Kararvi at Imam Husain (a.s.) Chowk (Behram Naka) . The Anjumans of Mumbai city attend in large numbers. 5 Majalis

Anjuman-e-Mashke Sakina has arranged a Khamsa at Zainabia from 19th Moharram to 23rd Moharram. The Zakir is Dr. Sayed Ali Jafari form Lucknow and a lecturer in Lucknow University in the Arabic & Persian Department. The Majlis starts at 9.00 pm. The last Majlis is on Saturday 2nd February, followed by Nauha & Matam for the full night. Various Anjumans of the city will participate in this night long programme.

Why Yazeed is the Most Cursed One?

The First Dreadful Crime: Killing Abu Abdillah Al-Husain (as).
Yazid son of Muawiya with that inhuman and wicked qualities in his first year of his rule martyred the "Leader of the Youth of the Paradise" Abu Abdullah al-Husain(A. S.) and his family and companions in that tragic state.

The Second Dreadful Crime: Killing and raping thousands of Residents of Madina and Desecrating Masjid Nabavi

In his second year of his rule he created the deplorable incident of "Harrah" which blackened the pages of history. The people of Madinah after the martyrdom of Imam Husain (A.S.) came to know the evils of Yazid and refused to obey him and threw out the agents of Yazid from Madinah.

Yazid on previous advice of his father Muawiya, sent a heartless and bloody old man Muslim ibn Aqbah with a strong army towards the holy tomb of Prophet of Islam (S.A.W.) at Madinah. The army of Yazid in that holy city committed such heinous crimes that the pen is ashamed to describe it.

The army of Yazid confronted the people of Madinah within a mile from Madinah, at a place called "Harrah" in the command of Abdullah ibn Hanzala. A fierce battle took place. The people of Madinah who could not defend themselves took refuge in the tomb sanctuary of Holy Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.). The Syrian Yazidi army entered Madinah. They broke the sanctity of that holy place and shed the blood of the people so much so that the holy mosque (Masjid Nabawi) was filled with blood which even reached Holy Prophet's grave.

Their horses impured the Masjid by passing urine and dung. Among the persons who killed were seven hundred people who were famous for piety and nobility. Others who were massacred consisted of ten thousand innocent men, women and children.

The Syrian Yazidi commander left free the army to loot and rape. The shameless Syrian Yazidi army began the plunder and rape. Thousands of girls and women got pregnant those newborns later called "The Children of Harrah". It is narrated that Yazidi army even committed rape in Masjid un-Nabawi.

A Sample Yazid's Cruelty to the People of Madinah
Ibn Qutaibah in his book "Al-Imamah va Siyasah" described:
"One of the army man entered a woman's house who had recently delivered a baby. Her new born baby was sucking milk in the lap of her mother. The man told that lady: Have you got money? She said: I swear God, the Syrian army did not left a single coin for me.
The army man said: Bring some thing for me else I will kill you and your infant.
The woman cried: Woe upon you, this is the child of Prophet's companion (sahabi). I also gave oath of allegiance to Prophet (S.A.W.) at "Shajara Allegiance", and pointing her infant told: My child, I swear God, if I have something, I will surely sacrifice upon you".

Suddenly that accursed man snatched the infant's leg who was sucking milk and pulled him away from mother's lap and hit him to the wall. So that the infant's brain got scattered before her mother's eyes and spread all over the floor.
The narrator said: As the accursed army man was stepping out of that house his face blackened at once.
This incident became an idiom among the people of Madinah.
The depth of the Harrah tragedy was so much that for along period when a man wanted to marry his daughter he was unable to give the guarantee of his daughters maidenhood.
Then the Yazidi army took allegiance from the people of Madinah, to be the slaves of Yazid. It was upon his will to leave them or made them slaves. The people of Madinah though their property plundered, blood shed and their women raped and molested, all of them gave
allegaince "Bayyat" to Yazid except the fourth holy Imam of the Shi'ites Imam Zainul Abedin(A.S.) .
The criminal Muslim Ibn Aqbah sent slaughtered heads of the people of Madinah to Yazid at Damascus ( Syria ). As the heads were presented before Yazid he said:
"I wish my forefathers who were killed in the battle of Badr would be alive and see how I took revenge with the Prophet of Islam and Muslims".

The Third Dreadful Crime: The Army of Yazid Set Ablaze and Destroyed Holy Kaaba

After suppressing and plundering people of Madinah, Muslim ibn Aqabah started towards Makkah to crush Abdullah ibn Zubair.

Finally Hasin ibn Namir took the leadership of the Syrian Yazidi army and attacked Makkah. When Abdullah ibn Zubair took refuge in Masjid al- Haram and Kaaba, they stoned Kaaba with catapult war machine and with cloth in kerosene oil and what ever inflammable in hand, they threw upon upon so that Holy Kaaba was burnt and demolished.

It is narrated that the Syrian army commander ordered to hit the Holy Kaaba daily with ten thousand stones. In the meantime as the Syrian army was attacking Holy Kaaba and destroying the holy place, Allah Almighty gave Yazid no chance and took away his life. He was still under the age of forty.

Yazid in the period of only three years caliphate committed heinous crimes. In his first year of rule he martyred Sayyid ush- Shuhada Imam Husain (A.S.) and captivated his whole family. In his second year of rule allowed his army to kill, loot and transgress the chastity of women in the holy city of Madinah . In the third year of his rule he set ablaze the Holy Kaaba and demolished the holy place.

The reason for the the death of Yazid.
Some said: He was drunk so much, that while dancing fell down upon his head and died.
Others said: He was killed buy a bedouin Arab in the desert. When Yazid got alone in chase of hunt, he introduced himself to Arab who got furiated and said:
'You are the murderer of Husain ibn Ali', thus the Arab killed Yazid on the spot. His body was buried in 'Bab Saghir" in Damascus . Now that place has been changed into rubbish heap.

Masudi in "Muruj az-Zahab" said: Yazid used to booze openly in public on the footsteps of Pharoah (Firaun). Rather Firaun was better than Yazid. Following Yazid, his agents too started debauchery overtly before people. In the period of Yazid's caliphate singing and dancing were performed openly among people. Musical instruments were in use and alcohol was consumed
freely in public.

The Silver Taboot was crafted by Mr. Mohammad Abbas Askari Husain Anguthiwale to be gifted to the Anjuman of Hallauri Imambada, Govandi, Mumbai. This Anjuman has a programme in the month of Safar, a Juloos where 72 Taboots are carried by the mourners. The donor of this Taboot has vowed last year that he will make a Silver Taboot if his wish was fulfilled. The estimated cost of this Taboot is Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand (Rs.1,50,000).
